    Default Can Sugar be multi-company?

Is there a way to have Sugar be multi-company such that with one install and one database you could run Company X and Company Y and Company Z but keep all the data separate for each and from each?

Obviously you could do this with separate databases and installs. I thought there might be some data segmentation in Sugar.

I rather doubt Sugar can be multi-company because I searched the term, but thought I'd ask just the same.

no, you can't manage multi company for one Sugar instance.
If you want to hosting Sugar for multi company, the cloud console is the ISP tool from Sugar.

You could do this using Team Security. Team Security comes with Pro and Ent, and there are some patches you can install from the Forge (or you can have a developer customize this for you).

With team security, you can set it up so that you can assign all users from Company X to Team X, and all their records would belong to Team X. Only members of Team X would be able to see those items in the system. Same for Team Y and Z.

You could create 1 filebase with 3 config_override.php files to connect to each of your separate databases.

But you can run intro trouble while upgrading..

I don't think team management will meet this situation.
If each company need to setup multi team, what will u do?
If admin account from Company X or Y go to sugar admin panel, he will see also users and records in Sugar.

There is a CRM called vTiger that seems to have used a lot of Sugar code and it has added a lot of permission functions... roles, groups, profiles, etc. However, it also was not set up to be multi-company.

Had the Sugar developers thought about it in the beginning it would have been simple to put in. You just need one extra database key on every table for the company ID and include that in everu SQL query. When I wrote Jaya123, that's what I did. Easy peasy! (Jaya123 is not a CRM, and is not for sale. It is a subscription web service for small biz.)
