In principle yes,
Sugar needs a PHP and database stack to run on. So as long as the OS supports these it should work. Sugar is implemented using PHP an interpreted language.
Usually Mysql is used for the database and has most support.... although there is a version for MS SQL server on Windows.
You would need an AIX environment that had an Apache server with PHP support and a MYSQL database. The versions you need are in the release notes. I know that you can get precompiled binaries of MYSQL for AIX 5.2 but you might have to compile the sourcce for the Apache server with the PHP module included and MYSQL support.
Not a big or difficult task if you have some basic AIX skills.
When you have an operational MYSQL server with Apache with MYSQL and PHP support running, you load the Sugarcrm code directories into a directory in your webserver root directory. When you point your browser to this directory the first time it will start the install routines. The Sugarcrm code is the same for all operation environments.
Hope it helps.
