Can you upgrade from OpenSource to Professional

Hi,

I really like Sugar and want to use the Opensource version till I grow to the point where the Professional version makes sense.
I am worried that I will not be able to upgrade and hence keep my data. Is is possible to upgrade to Professional version from Opensource and is it a pain?
