Default Checking for Duplicates by using the logic implemented in module "Contacts"

    Good evening,

I'm a newbie to customizing sugar. So my question might sound stupid, but I give it a try.

It's all about checking for duplicates on import and creation. As far as I can see, the "contacts" module has got some quite sophisticated logics to check for duplicates. So if you convert a lead to a contact, you will be informed that this contact might already exist.

Going further down the line, one would expect to find the same logics when importing prospects (called targets) and converting them into leads. And for importing leads. I've checked the forums and there are quite a few instructions on how to implement checking for duplicates via custom modules or projects like "development toolkit". But instead of re-inventing the wheel and trying to reengineer what is already implemented:

Can anybody think of a smart way to make the logic contained in "contacts" module available for "leads" and "targets" as well?

    Your help is highly appreciated.

Platform: SugarCE 5.20k currently running on XAMPP

    Many thanks
    James

    Ooops.

Found the solution myself checking the "Advanced Options" button in Step 3 of import.

    Sorry for asking to fast.
