CHMOD Files / Folders for installation

Hi,

Would it be possible to tell me if I'm doing something wrong? I'm using a hosting provider and have limited access to the server. I can unzip the files on the server however they never retain the CHMOD settings and I have to go through every folder / file with an FTP client to change the CHMOD settings (and there are a lot!). Is there an easier way of doing this? Then once you think you have done everything, you recheck the installation and it still doesn't go green! Then you have to repeat the process.

Perhaps it would it be possible on future releases to perhaps include a php script which you can run to set up all the folders / files with the correct permissions, etc. Alternatively perhaps having a link during the installation validation process which you can expand to show which file / folder you have missed!

I use SmartFTP for uploading the files. This FTP client also has a CHMOD option where you can recurse through the directories. Give it a try.

I also use SmartFTP, it's just it takes soooo long to go through each directory! If there was a file list available, it would take about 10 min to write a script to automatically CHMOD the files / directories.
