Closed Opportunities / Accounts

Hi, I'm using sugar for 6 months and my database is getting too fat.
the problem is than for entering an opportunity I have to create an account, but as only 10% of opportunities are won the other 90% remain as accounts, mixed with the real costumers.

What are you doing with those accounts? is there any way to mark as inactive, or maybe conver into leads again? how do you keep your account list clean?

Everything that is "deleted" in Sugar is simply marked as inactive, but remains in the table. You could "clean" your database by really deleting all of these inactive items (items with the "Deleted" field set to one). Maybe a tool could be written to do this in a safe way that wouldn't leave items hanging out there with a deleted reference.
