    Question Closing a project

I've recently installed v4.01 and I'm still stumped at the fact I can't seem to be able to 'close' a project. My (side) busines is building websites for local small businesses. So, for every new opportunity I close, I open a project under the client's name, enter required tasks and off I go working on them. Once the project is complete, I will have all tasks at status=Completed and 100%. Why can't I get rid of the project, or at the very least, have it show as Completed and Closed, somehow?

As I get more and more projects done, I have no way to differentiate between the one that are alive and ongoing and the ones that are done. I still want them to be there, but maybe just not look like any other project.

On while we're on that topic, is there any way for me to customize the Projects view, so I can add a column showing the customer name? I will admit I havent' started modifying SugarCRM yet, maybe just because of fear that I will break something and it won't work anymore...

    Ditto

Can anyone tell me how to close a project so its no longer in the list of open projects?

Deleting the project does not seem like the right thing to do.

Thanks to anyone who comments with a suggestion or the trick.
Even if its RTFM, at least I will know its out there or possible,

i have the same issue, here is what i did:

go to the admin console and open studio. go to edit a module, edit projects. add a custom "yes/no" checkbox field. i called mine "completed". add this field to all 4 views, (detail, edit, list, & search). once i did this i was able to go back and edit this field for all of my existing projects. now in list view, i can click the complete header, and all of the completed tasks go to the bottom of the list.

wait there is one more step, you probably noticed that the new field you created does not show up in the list view when you are viewing a project sublist under an account. you will need to go back to studio and edit the accounts module, sub category projects. add your new field to the list view.

I have one administrator user setup that I can assign closed project to, then whenever I'm displaying projects I can look at just my projects or the projects for my entire staff, sans the administrator. If I want to view just closed projects, I look at the projects just for the administrator.

    Hope that's useful.

    cheers,

    Darryl
