Community edition vs other editions ?

Hi,

It looks like the Community Edition supports a limited set of features compared with the other editions, but are those features it does support 'complete' ? The edition comparison diagram doesn't say explicitly, and I couldn't find the answer after searching .... I don't want to go thru installing and all and then find it only supports a few users or a few accounts ....

For example, does the Community Edition have some limit to the number of contacts you can have?

And - separate question - is the number of users limited?

I'm looking to use this for a non-profit. We have a number of volunteers, it would be handy to have a dozen or so user accounts

Hi Tom,

With the CE version of Sugar, you have unlimited users and there is no limit on the # of records. The modules that come with the CE version are identical to the ones in Pro/Ent. The main difference is that Pro/Ent versions have extra features (ex: team security, workflow etc) and extra modules (Products, Reports etc).

Are you saying that the community edition is the same as Sugar Express ??? :

It really is only the administrative side I care about as far as the difference between the types. Does the open source version have limited admin flexibility / control relative to the other 2 fuller versions?

The community edition and the express edition are nearly the same, exept
- the express editon has included the outlook and office integration which is no more available as addons for the community edition at the moment.
- the express editon has a maximum numer of 10 users !
