Community Edition vs Pro vs Enterprise

For SugarCRM, if we were to implement the free Community edition and then determined that we wanted the more advanced features of Pro or Enterprise, is there a direct upgrade path or is it a complete reinstall / rebuild.

Also, with all of the projects that I see posted on the site, are there similar/equal open source options to the features built into Pro or Enterprise?

For your first question, yes, there is an in-place upgrade path that facilitates the move upwards.

As for the modules, it varies. Some support all versions, some only support CE, while others only support Pro/Ent at a cost. The answer will vary. Check out www.sugarforge.org and www.sugarexchange.com
