Default Community Version only supports 3-4 users??

We've been using Sugar for a short time and as we roll it out to more and more sales people we've been wondering about support and changes. I was looking into Sugar network and the rep told me the community version is only designed to 3-4 users. This came at a bit of a shock to me as were about to move up to 100 sales people with 15000 contacts into it.

Are we about to get into trouble or is this FUD from a sales person?

Nothing about the Community Edition intrinsically limits the number of users it can usefully address. At some point as a business grows, its lack of features such as Reporting, Forecasting and Quotes, or its lack of commercial support, may make its use potentially uneconomic or inappropriate. Personally I would have thought it might be more in the 5-25 user range that Sugar Pro or some other commercial solution might become more appropriate for some businesses - but it is really a personal thing, and very dependent on the needs of your business model.

Thats good to know. I guess what I'd like is to pay for what I need rather then pay a per seat charge. Half my sales people won't use it and our marketing department will use it extensively thats 5 people. Paying for 100 seats for 5 full time users 50 casual users and 50 non users seems wasteful. When i described what I wanted the tech said you need 100 seat Sugar Pro.

I've been championing this in my company as a solution to some marketing we want to do. Now I guess I need to figure out a way to undo that.
