Contacts Bad Import field empty?

Hi...

I'm importing a CSV file.

The one file contains accounts and contacts. One company per line.

I copied out the accounts, taking the typical fields and saved it as a separate csv

these imported into Sugar just fine.

The CONTACTS are a different result though.

I copy out all the contact info and there are close to 100 fields of contact info (on one row)

I went and created most of those fields in STUDIO.

Next I import the csv and map the fields. Import fails because LAST NAME did not relate properly (I guess), so I choose the primary contacts last name. This field may or may not have any data.

I get a small protion of the records imported as a result and most of them did not.

Am I having an issue with empty last name fields?

Last name is a mandatory field so you must have a value in the column.

Apparently I have to have all the default fields with data.

So now I understand that I have to massage my excel sheet, as all the contacts are in one row. I see I have to get each contact onto its own row. know any good excel scripts to do that?
