Creating Contact Whilst Creating New Account

Hello,

I've searched the forum but cannot find an answer to this: I would like to set up accounts so that whilst entering the data for the account fields a contact for that account can also be added. Does anyone know if this is possible, please?

Hi Stephen,

From the Home page, there is an item under the Shortcuts called 'enter Business Card'. When you click this, you can enter Contact information, and then attach it to an existing Account, or create a new one. You can also create an Opportunity or Appointment on this screen as well. The 'Enter Business Card' shortcut is available from the Contacts shortcuts as well.

Your other option are: create the account record, then when you save the account, scroll down to the Contact submodule and click the Create button. It should open a short form of basic fields which you can quickly populate, or you can click the Full Form button for all the fields. When you create the contact from the subpanel, it will automatically be linked to the account and pull over the account address and some phone fields.

Or, start at the Contact record, and on the Account field, click the select button. Within the popup window that appears, there is a create button. So you can auto create a new account there, which is linked to the Contact. However, doing so will create a new account with not much information populated on the account.
