Question Creating a custom page for SugarCRM with links to modules

Happy New Year to you all!

Is there any tutorial on how to create a custom page within SugarCRM?

For example. I have created 10 modules with module builder, but rather than have them all appear in the menu, it would be nice to have one menu item.
When clicking on this menu item, this links to the custom page.

On the custom page, I have 10 fancy icons which each link to the 10 custom modules.

The icons are not designed yet but i have made a mock-up screen shot....

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.Name: Mock screen shot.jpg

Do you want to have this replace the default screen, or show up somewhere else?

Thumbs up Re: Creating a custom page for SugarCRM with links to modules

    Hi John,

Im looking to have one menu item in the menu, when a User clicks on this, they are brought to this page.

Each of the 10 JPEG icons will be a link to one of the 10 custom modules in Sugar.

Im just not sure where to start with the page as I need the SugarCRM header and footer, top and bottom.

    Many thanks,

    Dear,
I have used this modifying 'top right hand corner' menu
But for your request, you need to add a custom (view with your icon, controller ?)

    j.banbury,

Did you find a solution to this?

If I'm stubborn enough, I just might figure it out myself.
    SugarCRM Version 6.5.9 (Build 8653)
System: Linux 3.2.0-32-generic Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
    PHP Version 5.3.10-1ubuntu3.4
    MySQL Version 5.5.24

Just create a file index.php for that module (or put it e.g. into custom/modules/Home/index.php) where you send a page to the frontend with the icons and the links. Effort roughly 15 minutes.

Hi Christian, thanks for the tip.

Its been a busy year so far, so i've fallen behind on this project. I will hopefully get some more work on this done by the end of the month.
