    Default Creating a target list

    Hi,

for an email campaign I want to create a target list. My problem is that i have hundreds of contacts I want to add from my contacts to the target list and I cannot see which contacts are already on the targetlist and which are still not. When selecting new conttacts with the select button under contacts to add new contacts to the target list the list also shows contacts which are already stored on the target list.

Can you give me any hints how to create target lists more conveniently and efficiently?

My idea: There should be a method which marks a contact. And when creating target lists you should be able to filter about these markings (e.g. industry type, etc.)

    Thanks
    Hannes

Funny you should ask! Actually it's not funny at all. I was just on my way to touch on this very subject in the ongoing thread " Poll: Dump Sugar Mail and integrate something better? when I noticed your post. I have been working on a highly custom implementation of Sugar for about eight months now, and I can say unequivocally that filtering is NOT one of Sugar's strengths. With regard to contacts and accounts I've had to battle every step of the way, adding custom fields to both the db, and each module's searchForms to get a modicum of passable filtering capability. Fast forward then, to the last month wherein have struggled (putting things mildly) just to get campaigns to actually send email, only (having 'succeeded' there) to be completely thwarted over the course of the last week in my efforts to evolve a viable workflow utilizing Sugar's integrated email, prospects, and campaign module's. Bottom line is there is no efficiency (let alone convenience) to be wrought from this aspect of the SugarCRM system.

That said, there has been a bounty placed ($300-$400 now) for the development of a new/better solution/module/plug-in of a third party app in the above mentioned thread. I would invite you to join the discussion there.

    Regards,
    TJ
