creating target lists from email campaign resuts

Hi,
I would appreciate some assistance. I want to create a target list from the results of an email campaign. As an example, the email campaign produces a list of those targets that have read the email. I would like to create a list with only those targets. How can this be done?

From a more generic point of view, I can not figure out how to make duplicate copies of a target list and its associated targets. I must be missing something obvious but have been trying to work this one out for quite a while.

Hello Tony,

I think you migth be able to create a new report with the criteria you mention and then create
the target list based on the results of that report.

Your suggestion sounds good, but how do I generate the report? Sorry I am relatively new to this CRM system and whilst I am finding it extremely wide ranging in functionality.

Hi Tony,

You clic on the reports tag, clic on the Create custom report; there you have to set 3 things
1. Report On: Here you select the modules you want in your report, you can relate more than one module
2. Filter: Here you specify the criteria (the one of the campaign you mention) of the report by adding a new filter and
3. Choose Display Columns: Here you select the columns you want to see in the report

when you have all this set, you can run the report and check out the returned data; don't forget to give the report a name
and save it, otherwise you'll have to build it again!!

When you have your report, follow the link create target list located on the shortcuts of the campaign tag, and after you have created the target list, follow the name of the target list you created, look for the targets subpanel and click on the Select from Reports button, there you click on the report you previously created and then you'll finally have fed these list to the target list.

I hope this migth herlp you out!!!

I think the problem is that I do not appear to have a reports tab which is why I am having difficulties following your suggestion.

I have ver 5.0.0c installed. (community edition)

On the Campaign Module > View Status page, you can see who responded to the Campaign in the panels below.
Each panel has a button: Add to Target List.
You can just click that to create a new target list comprised of people who responded to your last campaign.

Hello Donna,

What you say makes total sense, and I imagine this is the way it was designed. When I try to generate the list as you suggest, sugarcrm does not post the targets to the list. Could this be a bug? I have tried it with both Firefox and IE.

Look forwards for further thoughts on this.
