Default CRM for Offices in Multiple Countries

We intend using Sugar to support multiple offices in different countries.
In order to make the system optimally responsive, the current idea is to have servers in each continent, periodically synchronizing.
(Though it may even be possible to just use one server on a fast-ish backbone ...)

I am guessing we would have to write our own plumbing for this.
Does anyone have experience or advice to share for such a scenario?
    Nick

    Hi Nick,

Well, instead of having respective instances of Sugar for your offices in various continents, you can host it on any of the server and access it worl wide.

If you have some other model of synchrozing sugar data then would like you to share with us.

    Regards,

Will the different currency, different date / time format be a problem if you run only one instance of SugarCRM ?

You can define multiple currencies within the system and on a related note, each user has their own date/time zone setting, so in theory, it should be fine.

    Hi,

We have several customers who are operating in several countries and continents. All do this on one central server. Two of our customers have close to 200 seats and no performance problems.

Sugar supports different time zones, different currencies, different no. & currency formats, different interface formats to say MS products and different languages operating on the same server.

The only time I would consider using separate servers is if there are bad internet connections.

    Hope this helps

    Pff not possible my foot.
Thing is, for sales guys, guys on the phone etc, we want the system being as responsive as possible.
However, thanks Malcolm it's useful to know the load times are ok, might have to try this out for myself.
Certainly make admin a whole lot easier ....

Today we decided to have one "version", with multiple possible configurations, mirrored in each country, with data potentially synchronised later.
Easier to patch/upgrade, no huge DB (which would get slow) and faster system response.
