I know what you mean. I work for a large bank and due to the security issues common to the financial sector and I was looking for a solution that I could purchase and put behind my firewall. I found that so many CRM companies, including Salesforce, only offered a SaaS solution.

I was reading about a Forrester Research survey found that only 16 percent of respondents were using or testing software-as-a-service, while 37 percent said they were not at all interested. Integration and TCO concerns, as well as limited options for customization were the top three reasons cited for not adopting SaaS, according to the survey.
I liked having the option to choose one platform or the other. I found a couple of companies like Microsoft CRM, Sugar CRM, EnterpriseWizard that offer both platforms. It’s pretty cool that enterprise wizard even offers an option to start out as a SaaS model and move it behind your firewall at some later point, all with a couple mouse clicks.
