Custom Fields for Contacts, Accounts, Leads

Is there a way to add custom fields especially to the Contacts, Accounts records. Another open source project makes it really easy to add and search on custom fields. Have not found any documentation on how to do this in SugarCRM.

Hi Mike,

you ca create and place custom fields using the Studio tool. Here is a link to Sugar documentation. Click on the tab for the version you are using, and then click on the link for 'Sugar Community Edition Installation and Administration Guide 5.1' -- this is the admin guide and there are instructions on how to create custom field.
