    Default Customer ID

    Hello everyone, I am new to CRM application and wondering if SugarCRm can be use to create or genrate Customer ID when I new customer sign up for our service?

    I do not sure the ins and out of the code to manage this but replicating the Case Number feature sounds like what you need for the Accounts Module.

    You create a custom Field called "Account Number" for the Accounts Modules make it an "int" value and give it a default value, then whenever a New Account is created have the value increase by one.

    So you will then have a unique number for every Account.


    Now I'm sure something of more expeirenced users will be able to tell you how to set it up to include Letters for Country IE000003 or US000004 etc etc....

    THe joy of SugarCRM is that with a little bit of custom code (or a lot) you can make it do almost anything you want.
