Dashlets wont stay

5.2 community version running on ubuntu 9.4 server and mysql.

As a user with admin rights. I remove some dashlets and add others on my home page. This stays until I log out and log back in. I am then back with the default layout.

I don't see a save button anywhere so I assume that the custom layout should just stay - or am I missing something?

I have checked file permissions for the database and the php directories and I think they are correct.

What do I need to do to get the dashlets to stay?

I jsut tried to add "related to" to the calls dashlet and again when I log out and back in, it is gone. This smacks of some sort of permissions problem but where?

when you drag and drop or add new dashlets you will get a message at the top of the screen to say "saving layouts", "layouts saved" ... do you see that when you re-arrange dashlets? ... or do you get an error?

Thanks for this.

I do get the messages at the top saying the layout has been saved - no errors. But it lies.....

Where is the layout information stored, maybe I can look at it at a lower level.

I am further convinced that it is a permissions issue somewhere because the settings for my email account also get lost when I log out. However the actual account details (the profile) are still there and I have to select it and save again.
