    Lightbulb departed contacts management

    Hi,
What's the best practice to clean up the contact database from employees no longer working in a company?
    - If I change the company name, the past activity will show up under the new company
    - If I delete the contact, I won't find easily the corresponding contact activity...

    thanks for your help

You could always add the second company and link the contact to the second company. A contact can be linked to more than one account. The only problem is you won't know which is the "active" relationship unless you make a note of it somewhere on the contact.

I've seen folks change the name of the contact to something like Last Name - "Inactive" then create a new contact. Seems to do the job. If you want to get fancy you could always add a start/end date to an account/contact relationship but that wouldn't solve the issue with activities from the old account showing still.
