    Question e-mail addresses disappear?!?

    Hello,

    Just today when I add a lead I have had some trouble adding in the email address. When creating a lead if I enter the email address in the designated field and click save the change is not saved and my email address field is still blank.

    I'm using Mozilla Firefox. Does anyone have any ideas on this matter?

    I am also having the same problem and it appears to have a direct correlation to the email handling process. It first appeared in a custom module (derived from module builder contact type) and what happened is when you edited a record and saved it, the email was not passed and it gets deleted. Worked around it by adding a logic hook and assumed it was my error.

    However, it keeps popping up in different places and is not reproducable. I cannot determine a pattern.

    I've seen it in the following cases:
    1. Merging duplicates, record is updated except email disappears.
    2. Adding records.
    3. Editing records.

    Anyone have any insight?

    Really can't help much if you don't tell us what version you are using.

    I'm not really sure what you are saying, when you create a lead with an email address and save it you say "the change is not saved and my email address field is still blank". What "Change" are we talking about here? The Email address or something else?

    I have a user that is reporting the same problem. I watched her try to update a contact and the email info doesn't save. I had her clear her firefox cache to no avail.

    I'm having a similar problem. I have just updated from 5.1 to 5.2.0e.

    When I view a lead, the email address is displayed.

    When I edit the lead, the email address field is blank (no text box displayed). Clicking add new address has no effect.

    When I save the lead, the email address that was previously shown seems to have been deleted.

    This is obviously a pretty serious issue as any edits to any leads result in deleting their email address.

    My system setup is as follows:
    Sugar version 5.2.0e
    Apache version 2.0.63
    PHP version 5.2.6
    MySQL version 5.0.77-community
    OS CENTOS 5.3

    Help on this would be very much appreciated.

    Try to reproduce that in a fresh install with demo data, save version.

    False alarm!

    For me, this was a browser issue. Google Chrome was the only browser which produced this error. I have since upgraded to version 2.0.172.28 and I have no more problems.

    All other browsers I tried (Safari, IE8, Firefox) worked fine.
