E-mail (Google Apps | Gmail) and SugarCRM

E-mail is most used communication in our business. We use Google Apps.

What are the alternatives for DolceGMail (limitations: works only with Firefox, vulnarable for Google changes)? Is it possible to make something similar as what Salesforce.com offer?

Inbound with Salesforce.com:
Anytime you send an email to a lead or a contact that you want automatically recorded in Salesforce CRM, BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) your specific Email-to-Salesforce-Address (emailtosalesforce@2q3412412bla41bla234dklujijifsd weriou.in.salesforce.com)

Outbound with Salesforce.com:
Also via BCC. With a custom made filter in Google Apps, you can label these e-mails correctly. (So that they do not come all into the ' inbox'. )

Thanks for your - in other way - useful comment.
Purpose of Fidel-GmailContactImporterPatch: Gmail Contacts importer will easily import Gmail contacts in to SugarCRM Contacts with few click from within SugarCRM Contacts module by entering Gmail username & password. It works for all editions (CE, Prof., Ent.) of SugarCRM 5.0.

But my question is more about e-mail. Has anybody any idea?

Google Apps integration into Sugar CE.

The Google Calendar Connector should be available for Sugar 5.5. any minute. And i read that the gmail integration is a standard feature of 5.5 but i couln't find further information.

I am using SugarCRM 5.5.1RC and GMail is supposed to be there, but I cannot get it to work. When setting up webmail, SugarCRM 5.5.1RC boast a hyperlink to enter gmail defaults, and it does appear to put the correct information in the fields. However, as I stated it does not work for me, and I cannot find any help.

For me, when I enter my Google credentials for either Gmail or my Google Apps account, SugarCRM freezes. I don't know what to do. I have gone back to vTiger with the gmail bookmartlet and and contact and calendar sync until SugarCRM can figure this out.
