    Default E-mail integration w. IMAP

    Hi!

I'm currently evaluating SugarCRM Open Source 4.0.1c for use at my Company. I'm impressed, but there's one thing I'm not satisfied with - the e-mail handling.

Since we already have a IMAP server, I'd like both incoming and outgoing mail to be stored on the IMAP server. I managed to solve the incoming problem quite nicely with Zuckermail, but I can't see how to make SugarCRM store all sent mail in the sent-mail folder of the IMAP server. I'd like it to do that, to enable my users to access their mail from different locations. Can this be done?

I have the same remark... SugarCRM is really a good software but the email plateform and integration is really poor.

Nowdays, email IS the core of good CRMs and email should be linked to different modules, it is not really the case with SugarCRM. The integration is difficult (need to copy to archive them, receive emails hrougnt SugarCRM is a nightmare, Java for email is not working fine, etc...)

In fact, the problem of the email is the point to choose a CRM... in my opinion. Email is the way to communicate with your customers, send documentation, faxes, etc. If the email is deficient, it is a problem but SugarCRM is young, I hope they will do improvement for this part.

I was looking for answer to just that problem. I am hoping my posting makes this thread alive again and someone from sugar sheds light on how to do it.

In brief, Is there a way for all incoming and outgoing email from sugar to be synchronized with the existing IMAP email that we have (as a hosted service with fusemail ) ?

Its always reassuring if the email is stored on the server also.

    Thanks,
    Gautam
