E-mail message causing an error when checking mail

Hi guys -

Query Failed:INSERT into emails set id='b1b8c800-388d-f739-2572-45b676fdcedf', date_entered='2007-01-23 20:55:50', date_modified='2007-01-23 20:55:50', assigned_user_id='8b032df1-3a2f-940d-4078-45b40fd85f54' (then there is some super long characters, then ; raw_source=null, deleted='0'::MySQL error 1406: Data too long for column 'from_name' at row 1

I went into mysql and increased the from_name field to 255, then stopped/started the DB. The problem still persists. I looked at the message from another email client and the from_name doesn't appear to be more than 50 characters long. Any advice you can give me would be much appreciated.

Sorry, I should have given my platform details.

Windows 2003 Server, MSExchange 2003, MySQL 5.1.11, PHP 4.4

Everything else is working great! This is affecting only one user so far, and the message appears to be from Dell.
