    Default Easy costumize ?

    Hi everyone :!
Sorry for my english is not quit good !

I would like to use a CRM and Sugar seems to be one of the best!

But i got a question, about something i can't test on the demo version.
I would like to personalise the contact view...but i would like to create some new field like "interest product" and i would like those fields appear directly on the contact view !

    So 2 question :
Can we create some new field on the contact detail ?
Can we change the contact view and put the new field ?

    Thanks for reponse

    Hello,
sure you can, check the 5.2.11, 5.2.12 and 5.2.15 sections of the manual to have an idea about, also looks for the topic "custom field" in the forums and you'll find more informations about.

    Regards.

Sugar is great in that it does allow for customization. Just be careful with your expectations. For example, If you add a field in the Leads side of things - Sugar won't automatically add it to the Accounts side of things... you need to be sure the custom fields are in both places.

Then, when converting a Lead to an Account - Sugar doesn't out of the box copy the custom fields from the Lead to the Account. There are hints scattered around on how to do this - and I'm just now playing with this issue.

Two examples of feeds dealing with this issue are:
    http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showt...t+custom+field
    http://www.sugarcrm.com/forums/showt...t+custom+field

Finally, Sugar doesn't do a good job of deleting custom data if you delete a record. So for example, if you delete a Lead with custom fields, the lead will be gone, but the custom fields will remain.

The good news is that Sugar *can* be customized so all of these issues can be addressed. However it is important to realize that they are present so you can plan for them accordingly.
