    Default Editing php.ini memory_limit setting?

I'm installing SugarCRM for the first time and have everything ready except for my memory_limit setting in php.ini. I have SSH root access to my server but this is new territory for me. I do know that my php.ini file is loaded in the /etc directory.

Could you please guide me through the process of modifying this setting in php.ini? I have never edited anything in SSH so forgive my ignorance, but I will need very specific instructions.

    Thanks.

What OS are you using? (Mac, Windows, Linux, Etc..)

From what you say it looks unixish in nature. There are diffrent locations to look in depending on which distribution of linux or flavor of unix. below are some possable location to look .. and you may even find several location that the file is located because you may have the command line version and apache module installed. The first place you would look is in the apache config directories. /etc/apache2/php.ini is where mine is located at but it may well be in /etc/httpd or /etc/php or one of its subdirectories.

    Cheers!

    Max,

I'm on a Linux box, which flavor I'm not exactly sure. As I mentioned in my initial post, I know where the php.ini file is located, I just don't know how to edit it in SSH. Any advice you can provide would be sincerely appreciated.

    Thanks.
