    Default Email module Sugar 5

We used to use email like this:
I had my email. I could see weather ore not these where connected to a client. If so, we could reply using our templates. Once the email was replied we archived it and we could see what we had received and what we had send in the past.

We decided to upgrade to sugar 5
Now: i can't see if an email message is connected to a client, i can't archive the messages easy (its realy very complex) and i can't see if i can use my templates (which are placed UNDER the message from the client ?!?). Futhermore i have to import my messages manually.

I decided to create a folder under My Mail with the name Archive. When i drag a email there is stays in My Mail, gets the status New, and when i delete it from My Mail its deleted from the Archive as well.

CRM manages relations. E-mail is primairy to us but we can't see if its related to our relations. Am i using email wrong?

    Hi,

We used to work with the archive-mail function, but from version 5.0 the workflow has changed a little.

You receive new mail in the top-box. This can be your personal mail, but also mailboxes that are assigned as groupmail. This mail is not in Sugar yet (like when you work with the plugin for Outlook/Firebird), but is hold the 'Sugar-mailclient'. I guess this mail is not in the database yet, but just in a webmail-client. You can read the mail, reply to it or quick-create anything from that mail. When finished you archive it with "import in Sugar".

I had to get used to this, but untill now I really like working this way. The only thing missing is the connection between an email and a lead etc. And I have not deceided in which browser Sugar 5.0 works best on OSX 10.4. All browsers seem to have problems with something, but i expect that this will get better with next updates.

    Hope this helps.

    Corwin

Yesterdays update for Safari (windows) made Sugar work perfect! We indeed changed our working methods using the new mail client, but i still miss a archive function, and a way to connect mail to a contact or account.

I discovered that the flow has changes making it very difficult to archive emails after a case has been opened. The mass update feature has been removed and the clean inbox has also changed. We may stay with 4.XX version because it simple to use and train. However I did find a work around. You can archive your email if you choose ALL EMAILS...find the email you wish to archive and archive as you did before using the "mass update" feature at the bottom of all emails. This is going to be a hard sell the sugar users here who are used to the easier flow. Also be sure to adjust the roles for your teams, make sure they cannot use the delete button. If you deleted the email is is removed from any associated cases, the tendency is to delete after the case has been created.
