I am using GNU General Public License version 3. Currently I get emails when a task is assigned to me. Can I receive email notices when a task is completed?

If you are using the PRO or ENT flavors you can create a workflow to send email alert.
If you are using the CE flavor you need to create a logic_hook before_save to send such alert.
