Email Notifications On Record Update

Is it possible to receive an email notification when a task is updated or closed, or a project task is updated or closed?

If I am a Administrator and assign a user a task or a project task, it would be nice for SugarCRM to send me an email notification when the task was updated or closed. Currently, my user is manually sending me an email after she updates a task or a project task which is assigned to her. Since she reports to me (assigned in SugarCRM), I assumed that I would get notifications when the task or project task was updated or closed to keep me in the informed.

Since this is not the case what is the purpose of the Report To field?

I am currently using the Open Source version of SugarCRM.

with OS-Version i don't know, if this is possible, think it's not.

But if u have Pro-Version, it is easily to setup. Pro-Version has a workflow-engine, so u can define a workflow-rule for task->status or something else. If it changes, send mail to .....
