Email Problems 2 - No Body

When I compose an email most times there is no window on screen to type the body of the email. All the to and from headers are there and the HTML tool bar shows but after the subject line - Nothing.
Sometimes, but I haven't figured out what triggers it, I get a text email screen - No HTML toolbar but now there is a space to type the body text.
If I open an email with a template still nowhere to type any text but when sent the text already in the template is sent.

How do I solve this one?

At the moment I don't think there is a fix.

We've reported this bug to the Sugar people and they've given our report bug number 4375, but after a week it's still awaiting assignment to one of their people to look at.

I have word on this it will not be fixed until 4.2 version it deals with the html editor. It has problems with IE. This problem does not occur in FireFox broser. There is an unoffical patch avalable to fix the problems. Be warned when you delete the email with this patch it also deletes the attachement with no chance of recovery of the attached file. This patch uses the ALT TEXT and there is no formating (font, size, color, etc.) This is a plain text fix and removes the html editor from the email. As an added feature of Charaterset selection to the email.

I have the same issue with IE and Firefox. That is just lame, if they know of the issue than a patch should have already been available.

It's now Feb 2 2007, I'm using version 4.5.1 (Build 1197) andf the problem is still there...

The body does not show up in Safari but does in FireFox.

At least there's a workaround.

Safari has some issues with Javascript and java. SugarCRM does rely on Java for the FCKEditor and uses javascript for AJAX or web 2.0. this allows for greater interactivity with the user side and the server without having to reload the page to get new info displayed to the user.

I am using 4.5.1 Pro and the email template editor does not have a toolbar in Firefox and Opera, but does in IE6 and IE7. The problem is there is only one person in the Office that uses IE everyone else uses Firefox...

Also the email template looks very wrong in Firefox and Opera, with the body and html boxes appearing in a somewhat haphazard placement.

I do have exactly the same problem as shown by IsOxfordDavid.

I just upgraded from 4.2.1 where everything was right.

Now in v4.5.1, I got this issue. I can't anymore edit an html email. I must clik "Edit text" to be able to write anything, no html available of course.

System : Ubuntu 6.06-1 server with standard Mysql and php. Using SugarCRM with Firefox 2.0 under Windows. I didn't want to try IE... but I did and everything works fine with IE !

we have got the same problem with Firefox. With the IE the toolbox and the body appears.
