Hi All,

I have a bit of dilemma. SugarCRM is a great base for a line-of-business system for us. The Studio and Module Builder allow us to build custom functionality easily.

The challenge is having a line-of-business system that requires annual licensing for all users. The issue is not just cost, its also having the business reliant on an externally licenses system.

So that raises two questions:

1. How much of the Pro/Enterprise functionality can be duplicated using the community edition and modules from SugarForge?

(I need workflow and reporting mainly)

2. Are there other development platforms out there that could be used instead (with similar simple development capability)?

3. What about systems where you can buy the software outright as opposed to licensing it?

Any other suggestions?
