    Default End User Confusion

I wanted to get others feedback on how their users handle logging activities in the Sugar environment. For example, a call can be scheduled underneath a Contact, Account, Opportunity. What have you used in terms of rules for where to log activities?
For example when I make a call on an opportunity I am most certainly calling 1 person but I log the call under the Contacts record. Thoughts?

    Default Re: End User Confusion

Personally, I have disabled the access to call logging anywhere but in the opportunity and quote. The quote part is not an option if you do not have the Pro version. I see no reason to confuse my end users and make finding information more difficult, so by restricting them to the opportunity, all the relevant information can always be found under that opportunity. If they have another opportunity with the same customer, the notes, attachments and other relevant contact information from that opportunity will go there.

For contacts, I have it set up as more of an address book associated with an account. It is not used for any information other than what you might find in any full-featured e-mail clients address book.

The only other spot that my users may have anything logged is a quote. If a quote turns into a sale, it goes to opportunity. Though, I have renamed Opportunity to Sales Order and our flow goes Account >> Quote >> Sales Order. I dumped Leads entirely. They just get an account and create a quote for each contact with the account holder. I track where a sale or potential sale came from through the Quote screen.
