Event Management Module

Hi All,

We're three months in to our adoption of SugarCRM and all goes well so far. We are now working on a couple of projects for our clients.

We've been working on a specification for an "event management" module, you know the kind of thing :-

1. set up event "templates" e.g. title, description, other fields
2. templates of events have instances e.g. date, location, cost
3. attendees (Contacts or Leads) get invited to events (Target Lists?)
4. attendees actually attend (or perhaps not) and that fact needs to be recorded i.e. did they attend or did they not attend?

Anyone got anything they've perhaps already written re. a spec or any beginnings of a module they could share?

Anyone interested in collaborating on either the spec or funding some development?

You might want to check out the Marketing Events module in info@hand. info@hand is a commercial superset of SugarCRM Open Source. The Events module was built to do pretty much just what you are describing. Also to allow for optional invoicing for the event.

Hi David,

Take a look at our Process Manager module at www.sierracrm.com. You can create automated business processes that will allow you to setup Meetings, Calls, Tasks - send emails on the create or modification of objects in SugarCRM.

Could be that Process Manager can assist you in this "event management"
