    Default Events Module

    Hi All,

We work in the legal sector and all our clients run events as a core part of their marketing plans.

For that reason we are going to be developing an "events module". I'm in the process of drafting the initial scope, but thought I would ask here if anyone has anything they can "share" that they already have e.g. code, screenshots, original specs or anything at all really?

We're probably NOT going to go the whole hog and have payments etc, just the ability to :-

    - create an event
    - link to a campaign to send out invites
    - track who's accepted/rejected
    - print attendee list
    - story attendance details back into History perhaps.

    More to come.

Anyone got anything to start me off, or would like contribute to the spec?

    Regs....David.

    Adding to it
    • Provide a portal for attendees to register
    • Produce registration lists and name tags
    • Track purchases, facilities, presenters, and conduct post-event surveys.
    • Register attendees,

Did you ever produce the events module? And if so, are your willing to share it?

I am starting up an Executive Development Centre for Wilfrid Laurier University (http://www.laurierexecutive.ca) and have just installed SugarCRM CE to help with that side of the business. We host classes which I need to track attendees and graduates. I need some kind of events module to help with that.

Richard, try this. Developed for 6.0 / 6.1 not tested on anything else.

Thank you very much for sharing; it uploaded and installed very cleanly

    Nice design as well

Is there a way to connect contacts with the event so you can see who attended the event?

    Hi Richard,

Yes. Add Contacts to the event using the Select Contact or Add Target List buttons.

Once you have done that, click the Mass Update button, a new window should appear and you can select Contacts, then choose Actions->Mass Update, select one of the two fields from the bottom of that screen and update them. Then close that window and refresh the window behind.

    Hey presto, mass update.

That is very nice, thank you

I missed the "Select Contacts" window on first review, but now that I've had a weklend to review, it is very useful

    Thank you kindly

I created a package to let you export key contact information for contacts belonging to an opportunity, according to their role in the opportunity. If you are interested, let me know.

    David,

Is the field attendee_type in the events_attended table used for any specific trigger? Or is it a place to hold information only?

If it is only for holding information, I'd like to modify the drop-down menu that feeds it (attendee_type_list) for my own purposes. I offer certificate courses and need to track if an attendee graduated/passed the course so I was hoping to use this field to track these things.

Also, where is the php scrip that controls the export functions? I need to add some fields to export so I can print name cards, place cards, and certificates with merging from an Excel flat file, so I need fields like title, company.

    This is a GREAT module!

    Richard
