Hi All,
I need to be able to dump a server and re-build it. In fact, that's the source of my problem. In addition, I've just upgraded in the new download to Version 4.0.0, which seems to work *great* !
Here's the only problem: existing users have information in the database that they don't want to have to re-key. They *love* SugarCRM and want to stick with the existing version (as usual).
It would be really nice to be able to export/import the database ... building a new server for them transparently ... when going from one version to another, or when restoring or installing fresh software.
SugarCRM lets me export just fine ... as a comma-delimited file ... for each of the categories like Accounts, Contacts.
When I try to Import, however, it doesn't recognize "SugarCRM" as one of the export formats. I have to re-enter each of the field names (field mapping) for accounts, contacts, etc. I'm stuck, since it came up with a field (Company Name) that wasn't recognized, so I can't import the data. There's some sort of a glitch here ...
It would seem that it would be really a good feature to export/import SugarCRM as its own data type (in addition to Act etc.) ... since this will allow both an upgrade of versions, and a complete re-install of a server in the case of disaster recovery - or for everyday (hard-drive, systemfail) backup/recovery purposes.
Anyone have any ideas on this? They would be much-obliged
Thanks,
