Default Extremely slow response in CE

The CE installation on my PC responds very slowly. It usually displays "Waiting for 127.0.0.1" for a long (minutes) time. Even when a page loads, the favicon in the Firefox browser tab always shows the Firefox processing image, not the SugarCRM favicon. I have completely uninstalled SugarCRM, and installed CE version 6.3.0 from the Fast Stack package, with no change. When I look at the DB through PHPMyadmin, the response is pretty fast.

    Does anyone have suggestions?

    Thanks

Yes I would like to know the same thing! I currently use Goldmine which is software based and very fast. The delay between click and wait for the screen to appear is daunting and keeps me away. I have the 6.3 loaded with just the sample data and working on the server itself. I loaded the stack so I guess I am using apache instead of the windows XP .NET. Anyone have any answers?

Followup: When I click a contact that has not been opened it takes 10 seconds to load... I can hear the hard drive grinding away. If I click back and forth between two contacts it takes 5 seconds.... is that normal? Seems very slow to me. Do I need to make an adjustment to my system?

I am also finding Sugar CRM's speed is inconsistent.

Software based CRMs are of course slower.

However, is there any way to speed it up by turning off features or changing some settings?

Same here, super slow. I was tempted to upgrade to professional, but after seeing that most of the posts in these forums go unanswered for sometimes more then a year I decided that I wouldn't waste my money.

    All,
A few things to check. We also need the specs of your server. Getting php info would help as well.

    In any case...

    1. Verify that PHP is configured per the Sugar user's guide.

    2. Make sure that your database server is configured correctly per the Sugar guide and has enough system resources to run correctly.

    3. Make sure that the database type and collation of your database match that of your sugar config.php. For example, if your collation is incorrect for your DB you can see massive lag in your instance of Sugar. Having tables in your DB with different collation is also a major issue.

    4. Make sure that the permissions of your sugar instance are also inline with the requirements of the Sugar documentation.

    5. Do you have any firewall rules that could be causing the issue?
