A Few Remarks Re. Email (5f)

Hi,

I tried to switch email handling from my local email client to Sugar (after I gave up about a year ago), here are the results:

1. In the process of creating a new email account existing ones tend to disappear temporarily (they are not in the list to the left anymore)

2. SMTP via Google (Apps) simply doesn't work. The settings are correct, SSL and everything, incoming works (IMAP) but whenever we try to send something Sugar says: Can't connect to SMTP host. Other (non Google) SMTP servers are ok. I also switched the system email account from sendmail to Google - same result (you can safely assume that I ports, user names and pwds are ok)

3. Whenever I open the account settings the SSL port for Google is changed. That in turn means that the account needs to be tested and saved again and all headers are downloaded again. Since I have a couple of 1000 mails this takes quite some time.

4. When I click "All Mail" in my email folders (a Google specific thing) I can only see 20 mails (despite the aforementioned download). And these aren't even the most recent ones.

5. When I write a new email my accounts appear twice in the "from" box

6. Accounts in the "from" box are sorted alphabetically as it seems. Thus I always choose the wrong one (I know I could choose different names but I believe there should be something like a "standard" account)

7. When importing received emails (where the word "import" is strange in itself because I am already working in my CRM system) the selection of a e.g, contact only works by pressing the select button, not through automatic search by typing in the name (no match)

8. It is apparently not possible to assign a received email to more than one object at once.

9. When replying to an email the email appears correctly under the history subpanel of the addressees but the connection to the contact gets lost. This means if I open the email I can't see the contact(s) in the subpanel under the email

10. Some of the words in the email module appear in English despite the fact that there are no untranslated strings any more (and I should know...)

11. It seems as if there is no way to add columns to the email listview (in the email module itself). At least the "to" column would be nice because it makes it easier to separate real from accidental spam.

12. Column settings in the list view aren't saved as it seems

13. New emails can't be added as dashlet to the front page(s)

13. Quick create doesn't work under FF3

14. Deletion of multiple emails isn't possible (tried it for sent emails folder - NOT an IMAP folder)
[EDIT] it actually is possible. But not with the delete button but by right-clicking after highlighting the respective mails...
