I have some complaints about this forum. For one, it's too slow. Maybe it's because I'm clear across the country in South Carolina, but when I click on a forum post, I count 20, and then give up counting to do something else while I wait for the post to display. It makes finding answers frustrating.

The second thing is that URLs don't change color once you have visited them. I tend to forget which posts I have read -- and opening a post is an expensive operation.

I have a 2Gb fiber coming into my office, and it's nearly midnight, so I don't think my bandwidth is an issue.

    Thanks,
    Vic

    Hi Vic,

We're using vBulletin as the engine, a very common bulletin software package. I haven't heard others complain about the speed of the site, so I'm puzzled as to what's up. Are you running Firefox or IE or something else? If you're using Firefox, I found that installing FasterFox was mandatory for just about any site I was visiting.

Some other tips you might try:

    1. Use the Latest Posts link (near the top of the page) to see what has been posted since your last visit. The icons on the left hand side have different meanings, from "new items in a thread you have read" to "this is a thread that I have made a post to".

    2. You can also use the Todays Posts link (next to Latest Posts) to see items from today, regardless of whether you have read them or not.

    Hope this helps,

    -Susie

The forum is pretty fast here in Holland. Look for the solution elsewhere, it's not a problem with the board. Are all the sites slow?

Ditto on my end. When I click on a post, it comes up rather quickly for me.

Are you running any type of anti-virus? If so, try disabling the script scanning capabilities.
