SugarCRM doesn't connect to a Gmail or Google Apps email account properly. The setup they created is for it is half-ass at best. So, don't waste your time, it won't connect.

I just tested this with the latest version and it connected right up first try. Can you elaborate on what exactly you are looking at or doing?

I just connected agin without problems.
Are you sure you have enabled your GMAIL account for IMAP access?
If it is a new Gmail account, you'll have to access mit manually first before you can connect through IMAP.
Please indicate the steps you have taken..include any error messages or screen shots to help us diagnose your issue
