Gmail integration?

What's the status of Gmail integration w/ SugarCRM? I found a thread where someone was working on it, but he said he abandoned the project due to Gmail support becoming a standard feature in 5.0.

If Gmail support isn't on the roadmap are there any Gmail users out there that have tied in Gmail somehow? I don't want to switch to Outlook, but if it's the only way ...

Hi Sherman

It is pretty easy to configure SugarCRM to integrate to Gmail.
There is a checkbox in the Email Settings to default to Gmail parameters.

This is just to use Gmail for mail notifications right? I would like to use Gmail as my email client, but have some of the integration features that come with the Outlook plugin, like capturing email communications and attaching them to the customer record.
