    Default Gnome Evolutions Calendar

I have been working on trying to get my Evolution mail client to connect up to sugar and get the calendar and also publish to it. I have read almost everything on this forum, but i cannot get it to work at all.Does anyone have any quick steps on getting this to work? I am using Evolution 2.4.2.1.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I've been using Evolution with SugarCRM for quite a while now. What I do is subscribe to the SugarCRM calendar in Evolution, and then publish the free/busy times from particular calendars to SugarCRM. This doesn't show your schedule in Sugar--but does show when you have something booked. In Evolution, you see it all ;-)

To subscribe to your Sugar calendar, go to "My Account", and set up a publish key. Then use the URL it generates as a new Web Calendar in Evolution. Should look something like this:

    webcal://server.name.com/sugarcrm/ical_server.php/email=name@domain.com

The other way took some doing. I found a script in the forums some time ago that provides free/busy publishing, and did some tweaks to get it to work. But now, several upgrades later, it may be part of the distribution--it looks like the file I'm publishing to got upgraded in October, and I know I've been using it longer than that.

So I just pick the calendars that I want to use for Free/Busy, go to the Evolution Settings, and publish to the vcal_server.php page, like this:

    https://server.name.com/sugarcrm/vca...ook&key=secret

    Hope that helps,
