I've made poker-chti
to the Edit Opportunities page, but they don't seem to carry over when creating an Opportunity from Convert Lead. Any ideas?

I suppose you are playing SugarCRM 6.x.

Convert Lead page does not load automatically the EditView of Accounts, Contacts and Opportunities.
If you have PRO versioin you can edit the Convert Lead page through Studio. If you have CE you must edit the ConvertLead metadata by hand.
