Google Apps integration status

Hi

My company are investegation the possibilty to start using SugarCrm. One key issue is Google Apps integration(mail, calendar, contacts)

I've been scanning the forums about information about this but it is hard to understand current status of this issue.

Is there someone who has a good view of this ???

I've been trying to make it work for 9 months now. I can't even keep the email client working and I am using their hosted version. The email client is absolutely useless in it's current form. It takes about 30 seconds just to go out and delete a message off the google server. And then sometimes it still doesn't delete it. It is the absolute flakiest piece of software I have ever seen. Then when you submit a case, they ask you what browser your using and your username and password and then evidently they are shot off into outer space because you never hear from them again. This is the problem I have run into with every open source product I have ever tried. NO SUPPORT !!!

There is no native integration with Google Apps. I am unaware of any plans to add it, but Sugar may have changed their mind on that recently.

Anyway, a number of people use it in conjunction with GMail as GMail supports IMAP and POP3, which Sugar supports. Although, POP3 support isn't recommended as Sugar is moving away from that.

If you are having a specific problem with getting it to talk to GMail, please post the details.

As for Calendar and Contacts integration, again, there is nothing built into Sugar that provides this functionality. There are two free connectors available for download on sugarforge.org that address this need and work quite well. I use the Calendar component on a daily basis and would recommend it to anyone looking for this type of integration.

I have also just started using Google apps, which is brilliant, it would be fantastic to integrate this with Sugar crm, i fear that if this can not be achieved we will have to migrate from Sugar.

As i am a great sugar fan this would be a shame, but google docs is almost indispensable

Hi

Have registered, installed google gadgets as per instructions but having problems on the SugarCRM (open source edition) side.
Getting message when installing module from pre-install.php, says CURL not enabled but phpinfo indicates Curl is enabled (libcurl/7.16.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8g zlib/1.2.3
Using Sugar6.2.4 on Apache 2.2.8, php 5.2.6 mysql 5.0.5.1

Can u help me?
