Help with Auditing

The issue I am having is when I create a new dropdown and click inside the Audit field, It does not show up in my change log. I can see the drop down name appear at the top, indicating the field is being audited. I made sure data was entered relative to that dropdown, and it still doesn't appear. Am I missing a step? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
