Default Help needed: Search doesn't work after import

    Hello,

I am on 4.5. Patch B and get the following problem:

When I create contacts manually one by one via the corresponding forms in SugarCRM or when I create them by import from vcard then they're searchable via the search - this so works fine.

Not so, if I am doing a mass - import of my 4200 contacts which are in a TSV - based fomatted file. I cannot filter/search them when using both the overall search function as well as the module - specific. What's wrong with that ?

Is there anybody, who resolved this issue or does anybody have expirience on importing the contact information manually (eg. via PHP-Myadmin ) with hard SQL - Statements directly to the Database ?

Any advice & help are highly appreciated, thanks in advance!

I'm having the same problem... after a tab-delimited import of contacts, the contacts search has stopped working. No errors, but no results either. The search at the top still works. Any ideas?

Okay, for me the problem was spaces in the empty fields that I imported. The query does not strip spaces (even if that's all there is in the field) and tries to match on that. Hope this helps.

    Hi,

I experienced a similar problem-- I imported Acounts using a tab delimited file. The import was fine but searching for the newly imported accounts seemed to be broken. I deleted the imported Accounts and tried importing again-- this time, during the import process I noticed an option to check certain indexes (indices) for duplicates during the import process. I selected all of the indices to be checked and following this import the search worked perfectly on the imported Accounts. By the way, my installation is using Ver. 4.5--
