How can I make this happen with leads?

I have leads that are generated in a database. When the lead is created, it is assigned to me. I want some type of macro that allows me to select, from a list, leads. I want to duplicate and assign the duplicate to another user in the database, then mark the duplicated lead as assigned.

Any suggestions on how I can go about doing this quickly?

You may share the Leads instead.
I believe you need some feature to let people know they have an assigned Lead. Perhaps a role (or team) based Leads Dashlet to let users know the shared Leads.

I don't want the people to know they are sharing leads. Each lead is going to be different.

I don't want the people to know they are sharing leads. Each lead is going to be different. I really just need to know how I can go about what I had originally asked... I need to duplicate a list of leads, assign them, then change the original status.

Have you figured this out yet? I too and looking to perform the same function but can only do the share. I don't necessarily want them to know the leads are being shared between multiple people and there isn't an easy copy and paste related function for me to do this. Please post a solution if you find it out thanks!
