How to give precise access to data to a specific user

Hi,

I'd like to know if there is any provision for giving access to a user to some very specific data. For example, I'd like to give User1 access (as a supervisor) to all the leads that have "assigned" as status and that are assigned to "Salesguy3".

Is this possible? I know I could, using an SQL query, reassign all those leads to User1, but I want them to stay assigned to their original person.

Hi mgaudette, with Sugar Professional/Enterprise it is possible to associate User1 as the manager of a team that User1 and Salesguy3 both belong. In this scenario, both User1 and Salesguy3 will gain access to the row. But the qualifier "status=assigned" is not considered.

It's possible to extend the team concept to include this as a customization but I'm not sure I'd recommend it.

If you're looking for a filtering process to reduce the sheer number of items a supervisor will gain visibility over, you should issue a Feature Request but bear in mind that the whole notion of segmenting data is with the Teams feature of Sugar Professional/Enterprise editions.
