Question How you others work with outlook

    Hi,

I'm new to the world of CRM and was wondering how others were working with outlook and sugarcrm. Does the CRM app basicially replace outlook, i.e. do I tell people to do most of their work through the web interface?

Or... do the sales people continue to use outlook as their main method of emailing and just use the sync extension to keep the sugarcrm database current. If this were the case I could see people not bothering to use the crm and just continuing with outlook as they always have.

Should the CRM tool serve as a sales aid and then when the business is won and the actual project planning and communications begins we use outlook.

With products like Act! which are closly integrated with outlook the process seems clearer but I am slightly confused as to how these web based systems will fit in with peoples work.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Hi David -

You can certainly use Sugar as your primary email and calendaring tool. However, if you already use Outlook and would prefer Sugar and Outlook to be integrated, then you should look at the Outlook Plugin that is part of Sugar Network.

If we continue to use outlook as the primary email, callender and address book then what is the point in the CRM?

I think I'm missing the point a little here?
