    Default Import into Sugarcrm

Has anyone been able to import directly into the Accounts table. I cannot get the imnport to work correctly, partly due to extra fields being in the accounts_cstm table. Also, is there any way I can link another table into a screen in the accouts module. I want to bring in turnover and overdue balances from our main accounting software.
    regards

It would be better if you indicate what exactly happens when you try to import

    Hi Superman

Sorry for the lack of info, new user and hoping to get my compnay on board with trhis application.

I need to be able to import financial information from our accounts system. I intend to do this by SQLyog Enteprise, so that a schedule could be set up to import each night. With this information being stored in the table called accounts_cstm, When I try to import the data, nothing gets imported - is this becasuse i am not entering data for the id_c field. Ideally, it would be better if a screen in Sugarcrm could be used which would show live data which is in .dbf format.
    regards

    Hi FarkHad

Thanks for your advice. Does this mean that if I import outside of Sugarcrm (ie SQLyog) I can import all account and contact records provided I use the ID from our existing accounting system to enalbe future imports to be able to replace existing data.

    Ian,

You should look into doing this with SOAP. There is a very nice SOAP infrastructure for SugarCRM that you can use to create and update Accounts and Contacts through the Sugar API, rather than directly to the database. Depending on the number of records you do each day, it might be much simpler and more reliable.

    Hi

The SOAP sounds interesting, but as I'm a 'newbie' to this, I dont understand how I could do this and how to configure SOAP to do this. To give you some more info, I want to import fields from our accounting system, about 2000 records and each record will require 16 fields to be imported. It's not a lot, but the major stumbling block to using SugarCRM is the need to be able to import these daily otherwise we will have to input the changes manually which is a 'no starter'. I know a little about MySQL but nothing on PHP.

We have a data capture/export tool that we have just added Sugar CRM support to. This tool allows users
to highlight and capture contact information from excel, emails, documents etc... and send it directly into Sugar CRM. If anyones ever used egrabber, it works like that only faster. We just completed the Sugar CRM integration and I wanted to offer it up for the feedback and comments of the forum since many of you work with large amounts of data and ask about importing.

This is a beta build that will run for 45 days full-featured.
    Download : http://download.broadlook.com/ccapture_beta
    License Key: SUGAR

To test the product you can visit http://www.broadlook.com/contactcapt...actcapture.htm for some sample data
or just highlight and email signature and press CTRL + (C,C). Than you can send the data to Sugar.
